Joe Lycett declares United States of Birmingham with 10 US towns and cities that share the same name for a new series called ‘Joe Lycett’s United States of Birmingham’ which will launch in 2025 on Sky Max and NOW.

International Day of Birmingham celebrations that Joe during his recent travels to North America, signed 'Friendship Agreements' with other cities that share the name Birmingham.

To commemorate this historic occasion, Joe, with support from the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, has officially designated September 24th as International Day of Birmingham, a day when Birminghams worldwide will celebrate their shared Brummie heritage with a collective chant of “Alright Bab.”

To unite Birminghams worldwide.

Crowds have been started to gathering in Birmingham city centre at the Victoria Square around 3 pm on Tuesday 24 of September outside the council house in the Colmore Row area.

Why is the number 11 bus so famous?

Once called an ‘icon’ of the city, the legendary bus route, which has run since 1926, was once the longest in Europe - and it has fascinated generations of Brummies for decades.

The Brummie comedian Joe Lycett arrived on Old school Birmingham number 11 bus with a parade of dhol drummers, cheerleaders, stilt walkers, a giant Chinese dragon-style bull, and a surprise papier-mâché tributeMr Egg and chinese dragon, drag icons in front of it marching in to the Victoria Square.

Joe Lyctt, said: "International Day of Birmingham should be something we already celebrate, but I am thrilled to be joining the Lord Mayor in our inaugural celebration. I have travelled thousands of miles around niche and rural parts of America to help create this lasting legacy for all Birminghams, the greatest places on earth, better than dumps like London and Paris and New York, and link all Birminghams with the other Birminghams so that all Birminghams are friends with Birmingham."

Here it is. The new 'United States of Birmingham' flag has been hoisted above Victoria Square for the first time. The flag was designed by Joe himself and accompanied by buglers playing the specially composed United States of Birmingham Fanfare.

Joe said "the new flag symbolises the new bond uniting the Birminghams of the world".
